Alonso Tepetzi

Alonso Tepetzi joined The Joffrey Ballet in 2016.

Mr. Tepetzi was born in Orizaba, Mexico, and started his dancing training at the Fomento para las artes itzamna. He moved to Cordoba to further pursue his education at En Pro del Talento Veracruzano. In 2015, he came to the U.S. to train at the Houston Ballet Academy.

Mr. Tepetzi is a seasoned competitor earning a Gold medal at the Labat International Competion (2013,2014) and the XI Concurso Nacional de Ballet Infantil y Juvenil. He also won the Bronze medal at the International Dance Competiton Attitude (2011), X Concurso nacional de Ballet (2013), Concorso Internazionale Di Danza Expression IDA (2014), and has participated in many other prestigious competitions, most notably as a finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix in New York in 2015. He received full scholarships to the Houston Ballet School, Washington Ballet School, Orlando Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, and IBS Barcelona.

He was invited to join the Joffrey Ballet Studio Company in 2016 and was soon promoted to the main company.
