TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT SUMMARY
(U.S.
customary)

Stage

1.    
A minimum 40’wide by 30’tall proscenium opening.
2.     Minimum
overall stage dimensions of 70’wide x 48’deep.



3.     Onstage
and Backstage areas clean and clear of obstructions.


4.     A level
stage floor, sprung with air space, and in good condition.  



5.     Stage will
be swept and mopped before each rehearsal and performance.


6.     The JBC
may need to screw scenic elements into the deck.


7.    
A minimum of 33 line-sets with Battens of at least 60’of width
and at least 65’of vertical travel.

Softgoods

1.    
5 sets of Black Velour Legs (28’high x 10’wide).


2.     5 Black
Velour Borders (60’wide x 8’high).       



3.     2 Black
Velour Curtains (60’wide x 30’high).     



4.     1 Black
sharkestooth scrim (50’wide x 30’high).

Electrics

1.    
A minimum of 195 lighting instruments of various types.

battens.

“rover” boom stands for on-stage specials.
4.     8 on-stage
vertical lighting booms with a height of 16’.


5.     2 matched
followspots with working iris, dowser, and color ‘boomerang’ and of
sufficient brightness to
“punch” through the general illumination.


6.     216
Dimmers of at least 2.4 K each (all DMX controllable).        


7.     An ETC
Expression Lighting Control Board outputting DMX control signal.


8.     4 switched
15A circuits are necessary for DF 50 hazers.


9.     2
man-lifts or rolling ladders capable of focusing electric pipes at a
height of 30’.
10.   Adequate work light
for on-stage classes, rehearsals, and work calls.


11.  
Running lights for the offstage and crossover areas.


12.  
A red ‘spotting’ light at the rear of the house, in line with the
centerline of the stage and at the eye -level of the on-stage dancers.

Audio

1.    
A professional quality house mixing console of 16 input and 8
output such as the Yamaha 1800 or equivalent.
2.    
One professional quality Mini-Disc player (such as the Denon
DN11OOR).
3.    
One dbx 166 or dbx 160x stereo compressor/limiter.
4.    
A Stereo house PA system capable of producing a continuous l lOdB
with a frequency range of at least 20 – 2O,OOOhz. at a distance of 100
feet from the stage.


5.    
A Stage Monitor system consisting of 4 RAMSA WS-A200 cabinets or
equivalent bi-amped, actively processed speaker system.

Communications

1.    
A total of 10 “Clear-Com” type headsets/stations.
2.    
A monitor and paging system to the dressing rooms for all
rehearsals and performances.
3.    
Two ‘switched’ announce microphones, one for the stage manager
(to both the stage and dressing rooms or to the house PA) the other at the
rehearsal table (to the stage monitors).

Technical
Rehearsal Requirements

tables located in the center of the main floor of the auditorium large
enough to seat 3 people, each with shaded working desk lights and
electrical outlets. Direct access to stage level is needed from this
position.

Wardrobe

1.     
At least 1 full-sized, fully operational washing machine and at
least 2 full-sized, fully operational clothes dryers.
2.     
A minimum of one industrial steamer (such as the Jiffy Model-J2).


3.     
3 rolling costume racks.
4.     
An area or room to be designated as a wardrobe work room.


5.     
A well-ventilated area near the stage for the painting of dance
shoes. If outdoors, this area should be covered, safe, and well lit.

Dressinq
Rooms

1.    
Facilities for a minimum of 34 dancers with a roughly equal number
of men and women, each with: lighted mirrors, dressing tables or counter
spaces and a chair for each dancer, a costume rack and audio monitors of
the show.


2.     
Direct access to sinks with hot and cold running water, working
toilets separated by gender and not shared with the public and to showers
separated by gender and with hot and cold running water.


3.     
A separate dressing room must be provided for the Artistic Director
of the company and equipped with an outside phone line capable of
international phone/fax calls.

Production
Offices

A
Production Office and a Company Manager’s Office each with tables, chairs,
lights, electric outlets and phone lines capable of international
phone/fax calls.

Additional
Company Requirements

1.    
A 40’x 50’ Studio or Rehearsal Room with at least 12’ of
ceiling height close to the stage for classes, with a sprung floor, a
tuned piano and 9-8’long, free-standing ballet barres and adequate
light.

2.    
If on-stage classes or rehearsals: A tuned upright piano (with a
piano light and adjustable bench), 9 – 8’ long, free-standing ballet
barres, and adequate rehearsal light.
3.     All pianos
should be tuned to Standard A440 International Pitch and should be tuned
before their first use.

4.    
All performance and rehearsal spaces must have heating and/or air
conditioning necessary to keep the room between 72°F and 85°F. as per
AGMA (American Guild of Musical Artist) rules.
5.     At least
10 gal. of room temperature non-carbonated bottled water for each
performance, rehearsal and technical work call.

20
lbs. of cubed ice for each rehearsal and performance.
