Sensuality and the Dance
This program will explore the sensual nature of dance and the influence
that modern culture had on the sensual nature of dance. A panel of dancers
and artistic staff will address questions pertaining to these topics and
also discuss the history of certain dances in The Joffrey’s repertoire,
including several of Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino cutting-edge ballets,
that are known for their sensuality. Longtime Joffrey Circle Committee member,
Ron Allen, will moderate this program with Joffrey dancers performing excerpts
of the ballets being discussed.
