Les Noces

Choreography by Bronislava Nijinska

Music by Igor Stravinsky

Performed to critical acclaim by The Joffrey in the past, see a new generation of dancers in this riveting ballet! Les Noces, with its vast chorus, explores the timeless rituals

of a peasant wedding. The piece was created by Nijinska, the first female Principal Choreographer of Les Ballets Russes.

Valses Poeticos

Choreography by Helgi Tomasson

Music by Enrique Granados

Originally created for Joffrey Ballet artistic director Ashley C. Wheater, this lyrical ballet transforms love letters into dance with intimate pas de deux and solos reflecting the tenderness

of the couple’s relationship. Joffrey Premiere

Round of Angels

Choreography by Gerald Arpino

Music by Gustav Mahler

Round of Angels was inspired in part by an etching entitled, “Ronde d’Anges,” by Cavaliere d’Arpino and is set to the haunting Adagietto from Mahler’s Fifth

Symphony. This emotional ballet set against a starry sky features a couple, destined to part, surrounded by five broken-winged male angels.

Carousel (A Dance)

Choreography by Christopher Wheeldon

Music by Richard Rodgers

The brilliantly talented Christopher Wheeldon’s Carousel (a Dance)is a great addition to the Joffrey Ballet repertoire. The ballet brings us to the fairground

and a young couple in love. It is set to the stunning music of Richard Rodgers, climaxing in a central duet to “If I Loved You”. It is a ballet to be treasured.  Joffrey
