This lush, lyrical, classically inspired showcase for 17 of The Joffrey’s world-class performers is as fresh and delightful today as it was at its New York and Los Angeles debuts 20 years ago.

“I wish I could have lifted her to the sky and left her there suspended with the stars in heaven, for a star on earth she surely was,” proclaimed a favorite partner of the exalted Russian ballerina Olga Spéssivtzeva. Mr. Arpino pays tribute in his own unique way with this lovely pas de deux.

The irrepressible, wildly popular American Broadway and concert dance maker Agnes de Mille pronounced Suite Saint-Saëns “straight, bravura dancing and bravura choreography… watching is like standing in a flight of meteors.”
