For Immediate Release:

THE JOFFREY BALLET ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF WARREN M. DAVIS AS ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

May 13, 2005. The Chicago-based, world-renowned Joffrey Ballet announced

today that Warren M. Davis has been appointed Associate Director of Development,

effective immediately.

Davis, 34, has devoted his entire professional career to fundraising and

corporate relations. He comes to The Joffrey Ballet from Chicago’s Museum of

Contemporary Art, where he led the Corporate Relations department for nearly

seven years. Prior to the MCA, Davis served as Development Manager for the

National Kidney Foundation of Illinois and Development Specialist for the Arizona

Science Center. He is active with several local non-profit organizations

including About Face Theatre, The Center on Halsted, and the DePaul University

Art Museum, and is a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Fundraising

Professionals. He is a graduate of the Herberger School of Fine Arts at Arizona

State University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree at DePaul

University.

“With The Joffrey’s 50th anniversary celebration getting underway in the

fall, we anticipate increased interest in the company from the Chicagoland

philanthropic community, and Warren has the experience and expertise to

translate that interest into mutually-beneficial funding programs,” said

Joffrey Ballet Executive Director Jon Teeuwissen.

Originally founded in 1956 by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino, The

Joffrey Ballet will launch its Golden Anniversary lineup this Fall, spanning

two seasons and including a summer celebration in-between. The Joffrey

Ballet’s 50th Anniversary Celebration will begin in October 2005 with a

mixed-repertory program entitled A Midsummer Night’s Dream, followed by

the holiday favorite, The Nutcracker; the full-evening masterpiece, Romeo

and Juliet; and a contemporary Spring program, Cool Vibrations. Three-program

subscriptions (all programs except The Nutcracker) begin at only $50 and

are now available by calling 312-739-0120. Single tickets for

these works and The Nutcracker will go on sale this summer. The Joffrey Ballet’s

50th Anniversary Celebration will extend through the 2006-07 season, details

to be announced at a later date.
