Kathleen Hechinger is the Joffrey’s Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer.  With over 20 years of experience as a financial professional and a Certified Public Accountant, Hechinger specializes in all aspects of financial management, including strategic planning, financial alternatives, investments, budgeting, government contracts, long-range forecasting, employee benefits, risk management and capital planning.

Kathleen previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, one of the largest not-for-profits in the State of Illinois.  She also held senior financial positions at the Museum of Contemporary Art and The Cradle. She has been a financial consultant for the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Center on Halsted, Donors Forum, and Nevada Public Radio, among many others. Hechinger has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Illinois University.  She has been a Faculty Member of the Masters in Art Administration Program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a lecturer for Managing Institutional Advancement at the University of Chicago.

Kathleen is the Treasurer of the Board of the Center on Halsted. She is a member of Chicago Finance Exchange, the Not-for-Profit CFO Roundtable of Chicago, CFO Arts, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
