THE GERALD ARPINO FOUNDATION IS FORMED
TO LEASE RIGHTS TO ARPINO AND JOFFREY BALLETS

CHICAGO, IL – The Gerald Arpino Foundation will make available and lease the rights to ballets by world renowned choreographers Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey in order to ensure both artists’ legacies and the quality of their ballets, it was announced today by the newly formed Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Former Joffrey Ballet General Manager Harriet Ross will serve Director of The Gerald Arpino Foundation.  Current Joffrey Ballet Master Charthel Arthur and former Joffrey Associate Artistic Director Cameron Basden, both former Joffrey dancers, will be among several artists from The Joffrey Ballet’s “family” to teach and coach Arpino and Joffrey ballets around the world.  Thirty-five ballets of varying length and size will be available for lease immediately.  They include Arpino’s signature ballets Light Rain and Trinity, his passionate and lyrical pas de deux Sea Shadow and Secret Places; and Joffrey’s Postcards and Pas Des Deesses.  All ballets that are not obtainable immediately are being planned to be made available in the future.
The Gerald Arpino Foundation Board of Directors includes Arpino family members Annamary Zarrelli, Dorothy Sander and Debra Sander, as well as Joffrey Ballet Executive Director Christopher C. Conway, Charthel Arthur, Cameron Basden and Harriet Ross.
