joined The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago in February of 1999 after performing as
a principal dancer with several American companies including: Oregon Ballet Theatre, Lake
Erie Ballet, Chicago City Ballet, Lawrence Pech Dance Company, The Carlisle Project,
Nashville Ballet and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
Ms.
Julias-Shields, originally from Pennsylvania, trained with the Central Pennsylvania Youth
Ballet under the Directorship of Marcia Dale Weary and also received additional training
at The Joffrey Ballet School summer program. Tracy has also performed with the San
Francisco Opera, the Pittsburgh Opera, Chicago’s Lyric Opera as well as many other
stage productions including the role of Louise in CAROUSEL.
Tracy’s impressive arrays of dance castings range from
classical to contemporary and include such notables as GISELLE (Giselle), COPPELIA
(Swanilda), HAMLET (Ophelia) as well as numerous works by a vast list of
choreographers.
