RANDY HERRERA

joined The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago in February of 1999 after graduating
from the Chicago Academy for the Performing Arts. Randy danced as an apprentice with The
Joffrey Ballet of Chicago in 1997 and 1998.

Randy first became
interested in dance when his sister began taking classes and he had to go with her. He
attended Jonathan Burr Elementary School where his teacher, Mario Solis, began working
with Randy on a dance career. Mr. Herrera attended the he Latin American Performing Arts
Conservatory in Chicago where he studied with Maria Francesca Cabrera.

He then received a scholarship to The Chicago Academy for the
Performing Arts, where he studied under the direction of Anna Paskeska, Claire Baitille
and Chicago choreographer Randy Duncan.

He also has studied dance with the American School of Ballet in the
summer of 1997, and with the San Francisco Ballet in the summer of 1998.

Mr. Herrera’s influences are George Balanchine, Rudolf Nureyev,
and Carlos Acosta.
