Joffrey Ballet of Chicago

Samuel Pergande joined the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago in July 2000.

Prior to joining the Joffrey, Mr. Pergande performed with Ballet Wisconsin as a principle in such roles as the Black Swan pas de deux, Don Quixote pas de deux, Grand Pas de Classique and The Nutcracker. Here he had the opportunity to work with contemporary choreographers Mark Dendy, Alejandro Vargas and Saeko Ichinoe. Before dancing with Ballet Wisconsin, Mr. Pergande joined the American Ballet Theater as an apprentice.

Mr. Pergande began his ballet training with the Milwaukee Ballet and Ballet Wisconsin. He also trained at the San Francisco Ballet School, the Summer International Academy in Vail, under the guidance of Pytor Pestov and Gilbert Mayer, and with the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow.

In 1996, Mr. Pergande was a semifinalist at the International Ballet and Modern Competition in Nagoya, Japan.
