Britta Lazenga joined The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago as a full member in 2001, after being one of the first dancers to join the Arpino Apprentice Program in 2000.

Ms. Lazenga first danced with The Joffrey at the age of ten in the 1992 and 1993 productions of THE NUTCRACKER. Since joining The Joffrey as an apprentice in 2000, Ms. Lazenga’s repertory has included BILLY THE KID, THE NUTCRACKER, VIVA VIVALDI, LES PRESAGES, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, THE AFTERNOON OF A FAUN, and LA SACRE DU PRINTEMPS.

She began her ballet training at Ecole de Ballet in Pittsburgh, continuing at Ballet Arts in Minnesota. She was attending the Harid Conservatory in West Palm Beach when The Joffrey happened to be appearing at the Kravis Center in that city. Mr. Arpino invited her to take class with the company. Following that, he invited her to join The JBC as an apprentice.
