Joffrey Ballet of Chicago

David Gombert, a native Chicagoan, began his ballet training with Larry Long, Dolores Lipinski, and Patricia Klecouik at the Ruth Page Foundation. He furthered his dance training at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, studying modern dance under Randy Duncan.

David joined the Joffrey as an Arpino Apprentice in 1999, and participated in the Joffrey’s Midwest Summer Workshop in Flint, Michigan, in both 2000 and 2001. He was promoted to full company member in the fall of 2002.

Since joining the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, David has danced roles in The Taming of the Shrew, Le Sacre du Printemps, Prodigal Son, Les Presages, and Robert Joffrey’s The Nutcracker.
