John Gluckman attended the Joffrey Summer Worshop in Flint, Michigan in 2001, and joined the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago as an Arpino Apprentice a few weeks later. In the fall of 2002, he was promoted to full company member.

Beginning his dance training in his native Philadelphia, John has been dancing since the age of nine. He has studied with Nancy Malmed and Viktor Yeliohin, and with Virginia Cesbron and Violette Verdy at Indiana University.

Since joining the Joffrey, John has danced a variety of roles, most notably as Fritz/Snow Prince in Robert Joffrey’s The Nutcracker. He considers his parents, Stephen and Patricia, to be the greatest influence on his professional career.
