Mauro Villanueva

Mauro Villanueva joined The Joffrey Ballet as an apprentice in 2000 and was promoted to full company member in 2002.
Born and raised in Texas, he began his dance training in San Antonio first with Shawn Knife and then with Buddy and Susan Trevino. He attended The Joffrey´s San Antonio and Nutmeg Conservatory´s summer workshops before finishing his studies at the Nutmeg Conservatory in Torrington, Connecticut.
Since joining The Joffrey Ballet, Mr. Villanueva has performed in many ballets including Creative Force, Confetti, I/DNA, Laurencia Pas d´Action, Le Sacre Du Printemps, Les Noces, Les Patineurs, Les Presages, The Nutcracker, Petrouchka, Romeo and Juliet, Square Dance, Strange Prisoners, Tensile Involvement, The Taming of the Shrew and A Wedding Bouquet.
