Emily Patterson

Emily Patterson joined The Joffrey Ballet in November 1998 as an apprentice for The Nutcracker and become a full-company member in June 1999.
Born in Harwinton, Connecticut, Ms. Patterson began her training at Nutmeg Ballet School under Sharon Dante and Eleanor D’Antuono. In 1996, she was the recipient of the Leftkowitz Award for Artistic Achievement from the New York International Ballet Competition.
Prior to joining The Joffrey Ballet, Ms. Patterson danced with American Ballet Theater’s Studio Company for two years. She joined MOMIX Dance Company in 1996 and continued to tour and perform with them until joining The Joffrey. She has assisted MOMIX Director Moses Pendleton in the choreography of a work set on Ballet Arizona.
Ms. Patterson has performed in The Joffrey Ballet´s production of Apollo, Birthday Variations, Creative Force, Footnote for RJ, Italian Suite, Kay´s Lilt, L´Apres Midi D´Un Faun, Les Presages, Light Rain, Lilac Garden, The Nutcracker (Snow Queen), Les Noces, Reflections, Rodeo, Le Sacre Du Printemps, Square Dance, Strange Prisoners Suite Saint-Saens, Taming of the Shrew, Tensile Involvement, The Prodigal Son, Viva Vivaldi and White Widow. She also played the role of Noelle in Robert Altman´s feature film “The Company.”
In 2003, Ms. Patterson was selected as Dance Magazine´s “25 to Watch in 2004.” Her other interests include gardening, sailing and being with her dogs.
