Brian McSween

Brian Logan McSween joined The Joffrey Ballet in 1999 after three years as a seasonal dancer.
Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, he began dancing in 1989 with Charlotte City Ballet under Melissa Hale. Mr. McSween continued his studies with Salvatore and Barbara Messina at Steps in Motion Dance Studio until 1993. He attended The Joffrey Ballet School in New York under a full scholarship and The Joffrey Midwest Workshop.
Prior to joining The Joffrey Ballet, Mr. McSween was a guest artist with American Ballet Theater during the spring of 1996 and a guest soloist with Grand Rapids Ballet in August 1996. He was also a member of the Aspen Ballet Company in 1997 and 1998. In 1999, Mr. McSween performed on tour with Complexions: A Concept in Dance.
Mr. McSween’s credits are varied in style and he has performed in Light Rain Pas de Deux, Lilac Garden (The Man), The Nutcracker (Drosselmeyer and Snow King), Petrouchka (Blackamoor Doll), Square Dance (The Caller), Strange Prisoners (soloist), and Valentine.
He has taught around the nation and has begun to set his own choreography.
