Stephen Lawrence joined The Joffrey Ballet in September 2005 as a full time Arpino Apprentice. Living in Lamoine, Maine, and Houston, Texas, he received his training from Bossov Ballet Theatre and Houston Ballet Academy. Mr. Lawrence cites Andrei Bossov and Claudio Munoz, his teachers and mentors, as major influences on his career.
Prior to joining The Joffrey Ballet, Mr. Lawrence performed as a guest artist with Kingwood Ballet Theatre for 3 years. There, his repertoire included Giselle (Peasant Pas De Deux); The Nutcracker (Prince) and Le Corsaire (Ali variation).
His other interests include teaching ballet and hip-hop, gaming, and kayaking.
