Julianne Kepley

Julianne Kepley joined The Joffrey Ballet in August 2002. Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, she received her training from the Atlanta School of Ballet, Atlanta Ballet II, Boston Ballet II and the School of American Ballet. Ms. Kepley cites the late Tom Pazik, her teacher and mentor of ten years, as a major influence on her career.
Prior to joining The Joffrey Ballet, Ms. Kepley performed as a principal dancer with Atlanta Ballet for eight years. There, her repertoire included Balanchine´s Serenade, Allegro Briallante, and Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux; Ben Stevenson´s Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland; and Michael Pink´s Romeo and Juliet.
Since joining The Joffrey, Ms. Kepley has performed in The Joffrey Ballet´s production of Square Dance, Apollo, Confetti, Italian Suite, Laurencia Pas d´Action, Le Sacre Du Printemps, Les Patineurs, The Nutcracker (Sugar Plum Fairy), Parade, Pas Des Deesses, Petrouchka, Romeo and Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew (Kate), Valentine, and A Wedding Bouquet. She also danced the principle variation from Le Vivandiere pas de six in both the rehearsal and performance sequence in Robert Altman´s 2003 feature film, “The Company”.
Outside of The Joffrey, Ms. Kepley enjoys working with choreographer Lauri Stallings and has appeared in several of her ballets over the last two years, including Sprawling Orchid, In the Belly of Grace, and the evening-length Moody Hollow.. Her other interests include teaching ballet, going to the movies, biking and playing with her two bulldogs, Gigi and Gus.
