National Audition Tour
General Audition Information
Admission into the International and Junior Summer Dance Intensives, Dance Lab, and Trainee Program is by audition only. Summer Intensive auditions are open to all students ages 9 to 21.
- 9 to 11+ will be considered for the Junior Summer Dance Intensive.
- 12 and older will be considered for both International Summer Dance Intensive and Dance Lab Programs.
- 17 to 21 who would like to be considered for the Trainee Program will need to attend the additional half hour Trainee Audition immediately following the regular Summer Intensive Audition.
There are two ways to audition:
- Attend an audition in person during the ISDI, Dance Lab and Trainee Program Audition Tour (December 2009 -March 2010).
- Applicants should choose time and age group based on their age at the time of the audition, regardless of what their age will be at the beginning of the Summer Intensive programs.
- Submit a video audition if you are unable to attend an audition in person. Click here for more information on video audition.
Audition results will be sent within two weeks of the audition attended.
Registration
- Students who will be attending an audition in person must pay a $30.00 non-refundable audition fee. Acceptable forms of payment on site are cash or money order only. Registration on site will begin one hour prior to your audition time.
- A formal headshot with ballet hairstyle is required and must be stapled to the audition form. Headshots will not be returned.
- Pre-registration online at a discounted rate of $25.00 is strongly recommended but not required. Those who pre-register online will need to print their audition form and bring it to the audition. Click here to register online.
- Credit card is the only acceptable form of payment when pre-registering online.
- The video audition fee is $40.00. Video auditions are due on March 1, 2010. Click here for more information on video audition.
Attire
Required attire for girls:
- pink tights
- black leotard
- ballet slippers
- Girls age 12 and older who are already working en pointe must bring their pointe shoes in addition to ballet slippers
- Girls who will be attending the Trainee audition must bring pointe shoes
Required attire for boys:
- white t-shirt
- full-length black tights
- black ballet slippers
