Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, is located in the Exelon Education Center at Joffrey Tower in Chicago, Illinois and is the only training program owned, operated or endorsed by The Joffrey Ballet.  The Joffrey Ballet is not affiliated with any other Joffrey dance training or school program.  For more information, please contact The Joffrey Ballet at 312.784.4600.

Year-End Class Presentation

All students in the Classical Ballet Children’s Division and Youth Division will have a year-end class demonstration in Spring 2010.  This very special performance will be held in The Joffrey’s Blackbox Theater.

Othello Children’s Cast

Auditions for the children’s cast of The Joffrey Ballet’s Production of Othello will be held in conjunction with the Nutcracker auditions.

Cinderella Children’s Cast

Auditions for the children’s cast of The Joffrey Ballet’s Production of Cinderella will be held mid-January 2010.  More information TBA.

JUNE 5, 2010 …SAVE THE DATE,   2009-2010 Season’s Grand Finale, “Traditions in Innovation.  The Joffrey Students”  Showcase performance by  Academy students, Trainees and a very special guest artists.  This will also include the Trainees First Graduation Ball.

Participation in Competitions, Festivals, etc.

Academy of Dance Students may be invited to participate in prestigious dance competitions, festivals, etc.  It is the sole discretion of the Artistic Director to determine which students deserve to represent the Academy of Dance at such events.  Annual tuition does not cover competition/festival expenses and each student will be responsible for any competition fees, travel, accommodation, costumes and any other expenses.  To guarantee high level of artistry and proper representation of the Academy of Dance, all students must receive the Artistic Director’s approval for any solo they might present.  Students whose solos do not have such approval may participate as “independent.”
