Children’s and Youth Division Online Registration Instructions

 

The Joffrey Academy of Dance follows a year-long syllabus. If your student is registering for an age based class, they must have turned the listed age on or before 8/31/17:

Creative Movement I – Age 3

Creative Movement II – Age 4

Pre-Ballet I – Age 5

Pre-Ballet II – Age 6

Boys’ Dance I – Ages 4-6

Boys’ Dance II – Age 7

Ballet I – Age 7

 

The classes below require a placement class. If interested in setting up a placement class, please contact reception [at] joffrey [dot] org

Youth Pre-Pointe and Pointe Placement Class and Registration: Students in Youth Ballet III and IV interested in being approved for Pre-Pointe or Pointe should attend a placement ballet class in the class immediately preceding Youth Pre-Pointe or Youth Pointe class. Please fill out a Trial Class Form and bring it with you to the placement class. Students wishing to take Pre-Pointe or Pointe must register for two Youth ballet classes per week, including the Youth Ballet class immediately preceding the Pre-Pointe or Pointe class.

 

When enrolling, these classes will appear together as one line item during the registration process. Note that the second ballet class will have to be added separately.

  

Registration Information

A $40 non-refundable and non-transferrable registration fee for each class applies to all students in the Children’s and Youth Division. An $100 non-refundable and non-transferrable annual registration fee applies to all students in the Pre-Professional Division. A $500 non-refundable and non-transferrable annual registration fee applies to all students in the Trainee Program. A $100 non-refundable and non-transferable registration fee applies to all students in the Summer Intensive Programs. Classes in the Adult Open Division are held on a drop-in basis and do not require a registration fee.

 

Admission to the Pre-Professional Division and Trainee Program at the Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet is determined by audition. Acceptance is based on the dancer’s physical capability, openness to instruction, and available space in the class or level.

 

The Joffrey Academy strongly recommends that registration be completed online.

 

Tuition Policy 

The Joffrey Academy of Dance does not offer any tuition refunds for missed classes, withdrawal or dismissal from the program. By registering for classes, families will agree that they are liable for the full tuition amount indicated on any Joffrey Academy of Dance materials, including any late charges, fees, or interest, even in the event of the student’s withdrawal or dismissal from the program before it is complete.
