Adult Open Division

Overview

The Adult Open Division is designed for adult dancers of all ages and abilities. Whether a student has years of dance experience or wants to learn dance for the first time, the Academy has the perfect class. All classes are fun, educational, and challenging for working professionals and others interested in dance. The drop-in schedule allows for flexibility and variety offers a great workout to relieve daily stress.

Summer Session Schedule 2012

Free First Friday will be held on Friday, June 8.

Free First Friday Schedule:

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm – Keep Fit Ballet

5:30 pm – 7:00 pm – Adult Beginning Ballet

6:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Adult Intermediate Ballet

7:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Hip Hop

Open Classes for Intermediate/ Advanced/ Professional levels will be held from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm on the following summer dates:

  • June 4-8 (June 8 Int/Adv/Pro class is not included in Free First Friday)
  • June 11-15 (Megan Philipp)
  • August 20-24
  • August 27-31

Classes will be taught by Alexei Kremnev, Anna Reznik, and Megan Philipp. Regular class rates apply.

Prices for regular classes:

Drop-in Class: $15.00
Professional Drop-in Class*: $10.00
College Student Drop-in Class*: $12.00
10 Class Card: $140.00
20 Class Card: $270.00
Professional 10 Class Card*: $90.00
College Student 10 Class Card*: $120.00

* Must present a valid student ID, union card, letter of verification on letterheard from the institute of employment, or a CPS ID to be eligible

Basic Ballet

This introductory class creates a friendly and welcoming environment for adults with no ballet experience.

 

Second Semester and Summer Session 2012:

Beginning Ballet

This class is for adults with little ballet experience, or someone who hasn’t taken ballet in a long time. Basic knowledge of ballet is helpful but not required.

 

Intermediate Ballet

Designed for the more serious dancer who is looking for a challenging class. A good knowledge of ballet vocabulary is beneficial. Attending class at least twice per week is recommended.

Advanced Ballet

Designed for the most serious dancer who is looking for a challenging class. Taking class at least twice per week is suggested.

Hip Hop

This class focuses on Hip Hop and freestyle dancing to upbeat, contemporary music. Attending is a fun and energetic way to dance the stressful workday away.

Broadway Jazz

The uptempo style and creative energy involved in this class are the perfect combination for the intermediate level jazz student.

This Pilates-focused ballet class involves traditional ballet exercises at a quicker pace for a great workout.

This is a core strengthening class with an emphasis on tension release, lengthening muscles and improving posture.
