General Audition Information
Admission into the International and Junior Summer Dance Intensives, Dance Lab, and Trainee Program is by audition only. Summer Intensive auditions are open to all students ages 9 to 21+. Students also may be considered for our year-round Pre-Professional Division. Click the Auditions link or view the 2015 summer intensive packet for more information about our programs!

International Summer Dance Intensive
2015 Program Dates: June 15 – July 17
Ages 12-21+
The International Summer Dance Intensive at the Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet is a five-week intensive designed for the serious ballet student, ages 12 and older, who is aspiring to a professional dance career. Daily classes include ballet technique, pointe, variations, men’s class, partnering, and classical repertoire. The program will also include weekly classes in modern, jazz, body conditioning, character, contemporary repertoire, and Pilates.
Seminars on Joffrey history and dance careers, as well as exciting field trips around Chicago are all a part of this unique experience. Classes are taught by The Joffrey Ballet’s Artistic Staff and Joffrey Academy Faculty. This intensive culminates with a presentation to showcase everything the students have learned.

Three-Week Junior Summer Dance Intensive
2015 Program Dates: June 22 – July 10
Ages 9-13+
The Three-Week Junior Summer Dance Intensive at the Joffrey Academy of Dance is a rigorous three week program. This program is designed for the serious young dancer who loves ballet. Classes include ballet technique, pointe/pre-pointe, classical repertoire, character, jazz, modern and flexibility. A presentation for family and friends at the end of the intensive will showcase the students’ hard work and talents.

Junior Summer Dance Intensive, 2 Weeks

• Junior Summer Dance Intensive II, (ages 8-12): July 27 – August 7 9:00am-1:00 PM
The Junior Summer Dance Intensives at the Joffrey Academy of Dance are two week programs designed for the dedicated young dancer who loves ballet. Daily classes include ballet technique, jazz, Latin, flexibility and more. A presentation for family and friends at the end of each intensive will showcase the students’ hard work and talents.

Dance Lab Summer Intensive
2015 Program Dates: July 20 – August 7
Ages 12-21+
In the Dance Lab Summer Intensive, intermediate to advanced level students ages 12 and older will work on developing technique and be challenged in various disciplines while working with top dance professionals. The three week curriculum includes daily classes in ballet technique, pointe and classical repertoire, as well as weekly classes in modern, jazz, contemporary repertoire, character and Pilates. Classes in nutrition, choreography and other enrichment seminars will also be included. The program will end with a performance for friends, family and the community.

Los Angeles Summer Dance Intensive
2015 Program Dates: June 22 – July 10
Ages 8-15 +
The Los Angeles Summer Dance Intensive is a three week intensive designed for the serious ballet student, ages 8 to 15 and over. Daily classes include ballet technique, pointe, and classical. The program will also include weekly classes in modern, contemporary repertoire, body conditioning and character.
Classes will be taught by The Joffrey Ballet’s Artistic Staff and Joffrey Academy Faculty. This intensive culminates with a presentation to showcase everything the students have learned.
Dorms for the Los Angeles Summer Dance Intensive are available. More information will be release by the new year.
