Thank you for attending The Joffrey Academy’s spring production, a world premiere of Coppélia, choreographed by Academy Artistic Directors Alexei Kremnev and Anna Reznik. Enter on a journey with Dr Coppelius! A story of sneakery, magic, and drifting love, Coppélia is a most popular comic ballet, set to the music of Léo Delibes. One of the earliest ballets, Coppélia features a doll coming to life. The main characters are Franz and his fiancée Swanhilda, and Dr. Coppelius who is fascinated with making his life-size dolls come to life. Coppélia remains one of the favorite choices for family entertainment for more than 140 years.
