Amanda Blair MacDonald worked for many years as a New York based actor, dancer and choreographer. She performed in the U.S., Europe, Asia and South America in such roles as: “Peggy Sawyer” in 42nd Street, “Diana Morales” in A Chorus Line, and “Lola” in Damn Yankees. She began her choreography career by choreographing 18 musicals for Capital Playhouse in Olympia, WA. It was there that she discovered her passion for teaching. In New York City, Amanda was soon in demand as a teacher at The Ailey School, the 92nd Street Y’s Harkness Dance Center, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and The American Academy of Dramatic Art. She also served as the director of dance for the New School’s Summer Musical Theatre Intensive program.
 
Amanda is an AmSat certified Alexander Technique teacher. She also trained with Harry Woolever, who was a long-time colleague of Hanya Holm, at the Dance Education Laboratory of the 92nd Street Y, and at the Kane School for Core Integration.
