It's the classic story that the Joffrey Ballet is presenting, but with a new adaptation of the Miguel de Cervantes tale. Russian choreographer Yuri Possokhov's "Don Quixote" looks at the story through the eyes of Quixote and Sancho Panza, with many sections showing the influence of the original choreography by Marius Petipa, which the legendary Possokhov danced often as a member of Russia's Bolshoi Ballet.
Why go: This world premiere is only the beginning of the Joffrey's "New Generations"-themed season of buzz-worthy repertoire.
Reconsider: The dance season is just getting into full swing, so you don't want to peak too soon.
Details: Wednesday through Oct. 23 at Auditorium Theatre, 50 E. Congress Parkway; $25-$149; 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com
