In a new 4-part series, WFMT will profile some of the many public-private arts partnerships that work with public school students in Chicago. Our producers have traveled around the city to profile programs focusing on music, dance, theater and new media, and we’ll speak with experts in the field about the role of such programs in public education.

Program #4 - Arts After School: Dance

The fourth of a four part series exploring after school arts programs in Chicago. This hour focuses on dance programs, and we'll meet students learning what it takes to perform at a high level. (Repeats Tuesday, May 31, 2011)

 

The final edition of our four-part series on arts education focused on dance programs offered by The Joffrey Ballet and Deeply Rooted Dance Theater.  But we also visited the youth program of Chicago’s About Face Theater, and met some students at the relatively new Chicago High School for the Arts.
