Lecture Demonstrations
Having trouble arranging for your group to attend a Joffrey performance? We'll send The Joffrey to you for a performance in the comfort of your own facilities. This is a fantastic way to experience the wonder of a professional ballet company, and even interact with the performers in an informative discussion session following the presentation.
The Joffrey's Seminars
The Joffrey's Seminars include topics such as Health and Nutrition for the Professional Ballet Dancer, Not-for-Profit Management, Meet the Artist Interviews, Lecture Demonstrations and Video Presentations. Choose from a single seminar, a three-topic one-day package, or a weeklong Joffrey intensive including one seminar for each day of the week. The Joffrey's Seminars are perfect for corporate events, private organizations and community centers.
Dance FUN-damentals
Dance FUNdamentals is a five-week session of weekly classes or a weeklong session of daily classes in which a Joffrey Ballet Teaching Artist introduces participants to the excitement of dance fundamentals. Students master proper stretching techniques, perform an energetic warm-up each session, learn modified choreography from The Joffrey's repertoire and express their thoughts and emotions creatively by crafting their own dances.
Exelon Strobel Step-Up Program
The Joffrey Ballet’s Exelon Strobel Step-Up Program is a rigorous scholarship program offered to promising high school students within The Joffrey’s Education & Community
Engagement (ECE) Programs. Named in honor of former Joffrey Board Chair Pamela B. Strobel and long-time supporter Exelon Corporation, the group was founded in 2006 to help the most advanced ECE students
develop their dance skills while providing performance opportunities to showcase their talents. The group has performed at Millennium Park, Daley Plaza, Dance Chicago, Looptopia, the Chase Auditorium,
and presented an outreach workshop for youths at La Rabida Children’s Hospital. With the opportunities afforded to them through the Exelon Strobel Step-Up Program, it is our hope that these
dedicated students grow and advance both personally and professionally while their dance careers blossom before our eyes.
The Exelon Strobel Step-Up Program is generously sponsored by Exelon Corporation, with additional support provided by the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation.
